Take a look through some of what we recommend.

Recommended small plates

The following list doesn’t include all of the small plates we offer at The Black Olive, but first-time visitors and lovers of Greek food alike are sure to find each of these options flavorful, memorable, and satisfying.

Hummus: We serve our own home-made version of this traditional Greek spread, and it’s a dish that’s easy to recommend both to those whose experiences are limited to store-brand options or those more familiar with the authentically-made real deal.

Stuffed Calamari on the Grill: This grilled seafood plate is an often-requested favorite at The Black Olive. Fresh calamari is stuffed with feta and Manouri cheeses, then delicately grilled to create a dish with unmatched taste and texture.

Russ’ Favorite Scallop Appetizer: Our fresh jumbo sea scallops are grilled and served on a bed of baby leafy greens. This dish is named after the creator of many of the ceramic designs we display at The Black Olive. Why not reserve a table and see them in person?

Authentic Greek main courses

Like our small plates and other dishes, many of our main courses feature a seafood component, but there’s plenty of meat to be found among authentic Greek cuisine, too. Take a look at some of what we have to offer.

Black Olive Lobster Pasta: This dish brings together many distinct features of Mediterranean cuisine into one tasty package. A sauce mixing together white wine, tomato, and tarragon is tossed with fresh pasta and a touch of cream, then topped with a whole lobster tail.

Greek Village Pie: Ready to taste a delicious pie like no other? Our Greek Village Pie combines sheep’s milk cheeses together with spinach, red Swiss chard, leeks, and a rustic Spanakopita into a home-made, hand-rolled phyllo.

Moroccan-Style Braised Lamb Shank: For many people, a delicious lamb dish comes to mind as quickly as any seafood or pasta meal when thinking about Mediterranean food! This lamb shank is braised slowly over several hours with vegetables, currents, and red wine, then served over couscous.

Top fish selections

Whole Mediterranean Sea Bass: A favorite among fish plates that’s known to some as Lavraki, Bronzini, or Loup de Mare, this fish is firm, slightly flaky, and low in oil content.

Whole Dover Sole: Our fresh Dover Sole is hard to find anywhere else. With low oil content, a firm texture, and a sweet aftertaste, it’s a truly outstanding, flavorful, and one-of-a-kind dish.
